Based on the Ford Explorer Sport, the new Platinum line goes on sale in September 2015 as a new high end option for Explorer buyers.
The new Ford Explorer Platinum is powered by a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 with 365hp/272kW and 350 lb-ft/475Nm. Power goes to all four wheels as standard with on the fly terrain mode shifting.
The Platinum has seats covered in Nirvana micro-perforation leather, a 500W Sony audio system, a 10-inch screen in the instrument cluster, active parking assistance, dual-panel moonroof, 20-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and silver trim pieces.
