The Datsun Go+ mini-minivan will have another competitor in Indonesia with the launch of the Daihatsu Sigra, a rebadged Toyota Calya.
Both the Daihatsu Sigra and Toyota Calya feature an awkward looking minivan body perched atop the platform used by Daihatsu Ayla and Toyota Agya hatchbacks.
To comply with the Indonesian government’s Low Cost Green Car designation, the Sigra and Calya will be powered by the same 1.2-liter gas engine used in the Etios. Manual and automatic transmissions will be available.
The Sigra and Calya have seating for up to seven people across three rows, and the twins will be priced below the existing F650 Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia, which are available with 1, 1.3, and 1.5-liter engines depending on the model.
