Mazda has revealed the third generation Mazda 2 (fourth generation JDM Mazda Demio). The new car sits on lightweight SkyActiv chassis, and looks much like shrunken Mazda 3.
Under the hood there will be 1.3- and 74kW/150Nm 1.5-litre versions of the SkyActiv-G 4-cylinder petrol, and a 77kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged SkyActiv-D diesel. Power goes to the front wheels via either a 6-speed manual or auto.
Available tech includes head-up display, climate control, LED driving lights, and the Mazda Connect (MZD Connect) entertainment/nav system that’s controlled via both an Audi MMI-knob and a high-res touchscreen.
The interior seems to be a high-class affair, with high-spec models featuring faux-leather coverings for the dash and door panels.
