The Toyota Alphard and Vellfire large MPV twins have entered their third generation with newly sculpted looks that are, to our eyes, challenging at best.
Perhaps to differentiate itself form the previous two generations, the new Alphard (above) and Vellfire (below) people movers have adopted a much more striking design for both its front and rear ends.
Under the skin, both the Alphard and Vellfire are offered with the choice of three drivetrains: a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a 3.5-litre V6 hooked up to a 6-speed auto, and an all-wheel drive hybrid.
Features available on the new Alphard/Vellfire minivans include rails that allow seats to slid up to the next row, a 148L storage space under the third row of seats, seating for either 7 or 8 people, LED ambient lighting in the ceiling, automatic engine stop/start, remote window operation, automated parking, surround view camera system and radar-guided cruise control.
